Hi, I’m Walter, and I love knitting. I knit to relieve stress, release anxiety, and manage depression. I am also a gay man who is not afraid to challenge cultural stereotypes of toxic masculinity.
Learning how to knit and meditation are two practices I use for being mindfully present; doing both teaches me how to live comfortably in my own skin and how to navigate life’s difficult moments. One stitch, one breath; one row, one day, at a time.
I Knit a Man is a journal where I share my adventures of learning how to knit. It is also a collection of musings, anecdotes, inspirations, photos, fictions, stories, and contemplative stitching posts. These are the stories of how I stitched myself together into the man I am today.
Take a look around, pull up a chair, take up your yarn and needles, stay for a while. Let’s stitch together.
